The word "chauvinism" has nothing to do with sexism except by recent misuse. Chauvin was an extreme French nationalist. The phrase "Male chauvinism" does at least provide some clarification even if it is still a misuse.

It can appear that many of the male figures in the Bible are chauvinists and nationalists for that matter.
In my new Blog, today's entry shed some light on Paul's discussion about when women should be subordinate in 1 Cor 14:34

Steve,

You are right about the use of the word "sexism." However, as you wrote, the word has become common in everyday use that now the word is used to communicate certain views about men.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
